<title>DBT Skills for Emotion Regulation $275</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p style="text-indent: 0px;"><span id="docs-internal-guid-49f4caad-7fff-ec7f-6c9a-9cebdd738353"></span><span style="text-indent: 36pt;"><span><strong>*Start Date is pending minimum registration numbers as of May 6th</strong></span></span></p><p style="text-indent: 0px;"><span style="text-indent: 36pt;"><span><strong>The&nbsp;</strong></span><span style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 14px; color: #000000;">Emotion Regulation Module covers Functions of Emotions, Myths About Emotions, Goals of Emotion Regulation, Changing Emotional Responses, and What My Emotions are Doing for Me.</span></span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.44; text-indent: 36pt; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 18pt; text-align: left;"><span style="text-indent: 36pt;">The Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) non-clinical Skills for Distress Tolerance Training Program at the Peer Support Coalition of Florida, Inc. (PSCFL) was developed in collaboration with the UF Health- University of Florida. Our trainers have been taught and mentored by Dr. Allison Ventura, PhD with the UF Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Ventura is one of only a dozen trained DBT clinicians in Florida and has been working with counseling, facilitating, and leading skills groups since 2005.</span></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.44;text-indent: 36pt;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:18pt;">Dialectical thinking involves merging opposing ideas. Rather than adhering to an either/or mindset, individuals in this program are encouraged to adopt a both/and perspective. The primary objective is to achieve equilibrium by acknowledging and accepting oneself, including challenges, while also recognizing the advantages of change. This program guides freeing the mind from fixed perspectives, decreasing emotional intensity resulting from imbalanced thoughts and disputes, and accepting our present circumstances while striving for personal development.&nbsp;</p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.44;text-indent: 36pt;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:18pt;"><br /><span style="background-color: #ffff00;"><strong>T</strong></span><strong><span style="background-color: #ffff00;">his training is the first of its kind to deliver DBT concepts and skills with the lens of recovery-oriented peer to peer delivery.&nbsp;</span></strong></p><p dir="ltr" style="line-height:1.44;text-indent: 36pt;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:18pt;">The training program is comprised of evidenced-based DBT skills used for individuals in recovery, including four modules with five sessions per module. In addition, this program separates the clinical therapy portion from the practical skills learning and practice. The goals of this training include:<br />•<span style="white-space: pre;">	</span>Improving focus and attention in the present moment&nbsp;<br />•<span style="white-space: pre;">	</span>Learn how to gain control of our emotions&nbsp;<br />•<span style="white-space: pre;">	</span>Increase our stress tolerance and learn to manage it&nbsp;<br />•<span style="white-space: pre;">	</span>Understand how to build and maintain positive relationships&nbsp;<br />•<span style="white-space: pre;">	</span>Improve family conflict&nbsp;<br />•<span style="white-space: pre;">	</span>Increase self-satisfaction and happiness</p><p><span style="text-indent: 48px; background-color: #ffff00;"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a href="https://www.peersupportfl.org/what-we-do/who-we-serve/certified-dbt-skills-coach-dbt-sc/">The DBT Skills Coach Training Program</a></span></strong> includes 4 core skills modules: Mindfulness Training Series, Distress Tolerance Training Series, Emotion Regulation Training Series, and Interpersonal Effectiveness Training Series. Completion of all 4 modules plus a 1-day Facilitator development training plus a 1-day DBT Skills Coach Certification training will result in Certification as a DBT Skills Coach. Research data will be collected along the way from both Facilitators and individuals served. <title>HYBRID Peer Experience Certified Recovery Peer Specialist Training - $700</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p><strong><span style="background-color: #ffff00;">This HYBRID training has online modules that will be available to start on Friday, May 29th and DUE Thursday, June 4th by 5pm Eastern. </span></strong>The self-paced, online modules will take about 18 to 20 hours for completion.</p><p><strong><span style="background-color: #ffff00;">Live sessions will occur via Zoom from Monday through Thursday on June 8, 9, 10, and 11 from 12 - 5pm EASTERN</span></strong></p><p>The Peer Experience Certified Recovery Peer Specialist Training&nbsp;covers the Florida Certification Board's learning domains and applies to both mental health and substance use Peer Specialists. This training will satisfy training requirements for those who wish to apply for certification through the Florida Certification Board. The training itself does not certify you or satisfy the state exam, rather it fulfills the required content training that is needed to apply to the board. This training requires role plays and practice sessions. The training will be conducted via Zoom. Participants must have a working video and keep their camera-enabled throughout the training. Breakout rooms will be utilized. Participation is required.&nbsp;<br /></p><p>Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a minimum education of a GED/HS Diploma or higher (you will need to locate your certificate later to upload to your application with the Florida Certification Board when you are ready to take the exam). Applicants must also have a minimum of 2 years in recovery before taking this course.</p><p>Participants should&nbsp;<strong>make arrangements for all other responsibilities throughout this course</strong>&nbsp;(work, caring for children, etc. and are expected to arrive on time and stay until the end of the day each day of training. This course will require your full attention and is<strong>&nbsp;not intended for the participant to be multitasking</strong>. The participant must be in a room free of other individuals and disturbances to ensure privacy and an optimal learning experience for all participants.</p><p>Those who have received training in another state should call the Florida Certification Board at 850-222-6314 to see if your training will transfer before applying for this course.</p><p>Anyone in the state of Florida can take this training.
