The Supervision of Peer Based Recovery Support Services Training is a hybrid course that consists in part of self-paced instruction on our learning management system and 2 days of a virtual class conducted over Zoom with live instruction. This course is a skill-building education program designed for supervisors and prospective supervisors of Peer Specialists. The training focus on the peer supervisor as the key change agent who has the ability to develop, teach, and grow the peer workforce. Participants in this training will gain an understanding of the role of the peer specialist in one-one service delivery and as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as the role of the supervisor. Participants will gain confidence and capacity as they are given the opportunity to practice skills taught in scenario-based small group activities. Learning Objectives:
- Role of peer support specialists
- Navigating self-disclosure
- Boundaries, and ethics for peer support specialists
- Integration of peer support within multidisciplinary teams
- Effective supervision skills for peer support supervisors
- Supporting professional and growth development opportunities for peer support specialists
This training provides 12 CEUs Instructions for the LMS self-paced portion of the training will be emailed one week prior to the live sessions. The Zoom Link for the live sessions will be accessed upon completion of the pre-work and is necessary for entry into the live session.
