Have you always wanted to be able to support someone experiencing a mental health challenge, but never know quite what to say or do? If so, then Mental Health First Aid is for you! During this training, you'll learn how to identify, understand and respond
to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among adults. You’ll build skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to those who are struggling. You’ll also learn how to help connect them to appropriate support. This training is a part of our "Certified Well-being Ambassador" program.
Important Details: This training is only open to FLORIDA residents who work in a healthcare setting. This training will occur in one, 8-hour time period.
Registering on this event page is the first step to attending the training, however, please note, registration is not auto-approved. Approved participants will receive an email 2 weeks prior to the training inviting them to register separately in the MHFA Connect Portal. This will allow you to complete the required self-paced pre-work in the Connect portal before the training date (this pre-work takes approx. 90 minutes to complete).
This training will occur virtually, via Zoom. A Zoom invite link will be sent out to participants in a separate email, the day of the training, provided they have completed the required pre-work.
* 8 CEU hours are available to Florida Certified Recovery Peer Specialists. Other healthcare professionals may be eligible to apply for CEU's after attending the training via their unique licensing board.
This training is funded in part by SAMHSA, and has a full value of $170. We are grateful to be able to offer it free of charge to increase access to mental health education in our community. Flyers: mental_health_first_aid__1_.png well-being_ambassador_progra.png
